Before you start
- Sign in as a team member with access to both versions and permission to comment on the destination.
- Compare the earlier and current versions. The review must be unlocked.
Quick task overview
Start with these steps. If the task has more steps, they appear right below.
- Step 1
In comparison, find an open top-level comment on the earlier version. Replies are not eligible.
- Step 2
Choose Bring to this version. Check the source and destination versions in the dialog.
- Step 3
If markup is available, decide whether to include it. Check its position on the destination and confirm; bring only the text if the content has moved.
Step by step
- 4Select Bring comment and check the new open comment on the current version.
What should happen
A comment is created under your name with a reference to the original. The original conversation stays intact; replies and attachments are not copied.
Common problems
- The action is unavailable in public guest access, outside comparison, or for resolved comments, deleted comments and replies.
- Already brought to this version means a copy already exists for that destination.
- Internal comments remain internal, subject to permissions and plan capabilities.
- If the source changed or markup is incompatible, refresh comments and check again; bring only text if needed. Copying does not resend old mention notifications.
